Bienvenido Facilitator Training:

  • The facilitator training is about facilitating an educational group with members of your  community who share a common experience, migration. 
  • The facilitator training is about learning and broadening knowledge and understanding  about the acculturative stress, substance use and mental health, and group facilitation. 
  • The facilitator training is a fun, relaxed, yet challenging exercise for teaching both the  novice and expert about issues related to substance abuse and mental health with Latino  immigrants. 

Who can participate in a Bienvenido Facilitator training? 

Demonstrated knowledge and work experience with Latino, and other minority  populations. 

Experience with individuals and/or group training for community groups, organizations,  and schools. 

Knowledge of basic substance abuse and mental health related topics in one or more of  the following areas: substance use, substance abuse, substance dependence, acculturation,  communication styles, anger management, stress management, and parent/child relations. Bilingual Spanish/English ability

The parte del cambio” (Be Part of the Change) is a leadership program designed for Latino leaders seeking to be part of a network of Latino leaders committed to increasing influence and civic participation in their communities at all levels, both private and public. The Se parte del cambio helps Latino leaders learn about the importance of civic engagement, public service, and developing professional and social networks to achieve positive change in their communities. The Se parte del cambio leadership program offers program members the opportunity to develop knowledge on topics such as leadership and destiny, leadership with the people, leadership and cultural strengths, leadership and public service, leadership and advocacy, leadership and communication, leadership and civic engagement, and leadership and public policy.

Program Purpose

The “Sé parte del cambio” leadership program is designed for Latino executive leaders who aspire to become:

  • Effective leaders
  • Civic innovators
  • AI-ready changemakers

Participants will be prepared to lead in a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by:

  • Artificial intelligence
  • Emerging technologies
  • Workforce transformation

All while remaining grounded in:

  • Culture
  • Community
  • Service

The Bienvenido Program is a strengths based mental health promotion curriculum that focuses on building the emotional and behavioral health of immigrants. The Bienvenido Program is one of the first prevention intervention programs in Indiana that addresses the migration experience and acculturative stressors encountered by immigrants.

In the program, participants meet for nine weekly group sessions. Each module provides information about topics related to the development and sustenance of mental health and enhanced quality of life. Participants engage in meaningful conversation to develop an environment of mutual support.
